How do I place an order for pickup?

We accept walk-in customers at our bakery during business hours.  You may also place your order online for same day in-store pickup.

What is the deadline for placing a pickup pre-order?

If you are picking up your order at our bakery, we have online pickup slots every 15 minutes until shortly before closing.

If you would like to pick up your order at a farmers’ market, the deadline to place your order is 5:00 p.m. the day before the market.

When will my order be ready for pickup?

Your order will be ready for pickup starting at the pickup time you selected and until we close at 2:00 p.m. (Sunday & Monday) or 4:00 p.m. (Tuesday-Saturday).  You do not need to arrive at the exact pickup time you selected.  If your order includes refrigerated items, we will keep them in the fridge until you arrive.  For orders that include a sandwich, we recommend that you arrive as close to your designated pickup time as possible, as sandwiches will remain at room temperature after they are prepared.

If you place an order for pickup at a farmers’ market, you may pick up your order anytime during market hours.

How can I pick up my pre-order?

When you arrive at your pickup location (either Baked by Yael or one of our farmers’ markets), give the salesperson the first and last name of the person who placed the order.  The salesperson will retrieve your order and hand it to you.

If you are picking up at our bakery across from the National Zoo, you may take advantage of our complimentary curbside pickup service.  Just call us when you're a block or two away and when you pull up in front of the store, we'll run your order out to you.

Where will my order be ready for pickup?

Your order will be ready for pickup at the location you select when you place your order.  When you place your order, please double check that you are selecting the correct pickup location.

Why is my preferred pickup date not available when I try to check out?

If your preferred pickup date is now showing up when you go to check out, it is usually for one of three reasons:  (1) our bakery is about to close for the day; (2) you have challah in your cart, which is usually only available only Thursdays unless you have a challah subscription; or (3) you have another item in your cart that is sold out today and only available on a future date.  If you are registering for a virtual class, kits for those classes are usually only available for pickup the few days prior to the class. 

How can I change the pickup location of my order?

If you would like the pickup location for your order, please email us as soon as possible at order@bakedbyyael.com.  If you would like you switch your pickup location to or from a farmers’ market, please contact us by 5:00 p.m. the day before your pickup date.
